Current Favourites

I don't think I have ever done a favourites post before so here goes my first one. You will probably notice a recurring theme in these products, I love things that have multiple uses. These favourites are in no particular order.

Current Favourites

Goodness Chia Seed Oil - I recently bought the Goodness Skin Care trial kit and I really love all of the products in the kit but I especially love the Chia Seed Oil. I use it morning and night, it really helps to moisturise my skin and calm my breakouts. I have also noticed since switching to the Goodness skin care range my lips have been a lot less dry. This Oil also works great on my cuticles.

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner - I also picked up this toner when I bought the Goodness Kit, I had used it before and I remembered it being nice so I thought I'd give it another go. I think I love it even more this time around. I use it after washing my face before applying the Chia Seed Oil and moisturiser. I also use it before applying my makeup and after to set down any powders. Its also great as a refreshing mist throughout the day. Plus it has a lovely rose smell. I practically bathe myself in this mist twice a day.

Nars Albatross - Before I bought this I rarely highlighted my face and if I did I would just use an eyeshadow. Albatross has started my love affair with all things shimmery. I use this product as a face highlight as well as an eyeshadow. It is such a lovely colour although sometimes I feel it can be a little strong as a face highlight for everyday but it is great for a more glam look and makes a beautiful lid colour.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded - I use this in basically the same way as I use the Nars Albatross, although this colour is more of a champagne gold and I find it gives a much more natural look for everyday. I also use this on the eyes either as a base for other colours or just on its own. I love this product as my everyday face highlight and if you want an extreme highlight you can layer the Colour Tattoo with the Nars Albatross. It is a cream product but it dries and lasts forever on the skin.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze - I also never really bronzed my face before getting this bronzer, I always thought I was too pale for bronzer and I would end up looking orange. This bronzer is  a great colour and the pigmentation is not too strong, so you can build up the colour to your liking. On a everyday basis I will just use this bronzer to warm up my face and skip out on the blush. I also love to run this bronzer through the crease of my eye to add a little definition. It also works great as a transition shade for most eye looks.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?

Day Six - My Favourite Skincare Product

My favourite skincare product at the moment is the Nutrimetics Nutri - Rich Oil with Apricot Kernel Oil.

This is an oil balm that is one of those all in one products, you can use it as a lip balm, a cuticle cream, first aid cream, great for burns, a night cream and so much more.

I have been using it as a night cream for the past two months and I love it! When first applied it feels quite greasy on the skin which I thought I would hate since I already have oily skin but the product eventually starts to absorb and when I wake up in the morning my skin feels so soft.

This product also helps with my pimples, I find that since using this product as a night cream my pimples heal a lot faster and unlike most spot treatments it doesn't dry out my pimples leaving me with flaky red sores that are impossible to cover.

The only time you should not use this product is if you are going out in the sun, because it is an oil it will make your skin burn much faster.

You can buy this in 25 ml or 60 ml jars. I have the 25 ml jar which I have been using for the past two months and it will probably last me another month. I use a very generous amount every night as a night cream, so if you were only using this as a first aid cream or cuticle balm it would last you a lot longer. The packaging is quite heavy and for the size of the jar the area that holds the product is quite small, if that makes sense. They could have had much smaller packaging with the same amount of product, although the jar does look quite fancy and high end on your vanity.

If you are interested in purchasing I have linked the Nutrimetics website above, just click on the size you are interested in. It does mention on the website that this product is not for oily skin but I have very oily skin and still love this product I find that my skin is less oily in the morning when I use this product than when I use other products.

Final thing I forgot to mention is the smell, this product smells delicious. Like I want to eat my face when I am wearing it. I'm not quite sure what the smell is but it is sweet and wonderful.

Whatever Wednesday: Skinfood NZ Cleans All Review

This is an empty product review of the Skinfood New Zealand Cleans All Cleanser. I hauled this about a month ago and just finished up the bottle so I thought it time to give it a review.

You may think 1 month isn't very long for a cleanser to last but this really is a Cleans All. I use it in the morning, to remove my make up at night and then also to do my second cleanse to make sure my skin is clean.

I really do love this cleanser, before I started using it I had been using quite active cleansers to combat my acne but this left me with dry patches but still oily and spotty. On top of this my skin is always dehydrated because I never drink enough water. So I set out looking for a gentle cleanser just to use in the morning when I don't need a powerful cleanser. I got this and fell in love with it and it is now the only cleanser I use. I do still use other exfoliaters every now and then.

It leaves my blemishes feeling calmer my skin is clean but not dry and tight. I find my moisturisers absorb better into my skin instead of just sitting on top. I can genuinely say I would re purchase this product because I already have. Often I say I would re purchase a product only to be beaten by curiosity or pretty packaging and I end up buying a different product. But I love this cleanser so much I bought a new one as soon as I finished my first bottle. I get it from The Warehouse for $12.99.

I'm not saying this is a magic cleanser that will get rid of all your blemishes, but it definitely soothes mine and I feel like the pimples I do get are smaller and disappear more quickly as well as not being as deep.

Because this is an all in one product I find myself never skipping out on washing my face. I used to be terrible at keeping up with washing my face especially in the morning because it would dry out my face, but now its so easy to use just one product and my skin actually feels nicer and any sore pimples I have hurt less.

At $12.99, why not give it a try even if you only use it as your morning cleanser or make up remover.

Here is a video of me rambling about how much I love this product, I think it shows I genuinely love this product. Sorry its not edited but its under 10 minutes.

Mini Skincare Haul and First Impressions

I bought two new skin care items yesterday and I thought I would haul them and let you know what my first impressions are. There will most likely be full reviews in a month or so.

I bought Skinfood New Zealand Cleans all which is a cream cleanser that removes makeup and is safe on the eyes. It is a natural based product with aloe and manuka honey. I love manuka honey on my skin and this is what drew me to it.

It has a essential oil smell to it but it is not a strong smell as though it is just the smell of the ingredients not an added fragrance.

I have used this to remove my makeup and it did a good job although it did struggle a bit with removing my waterproof mascara.

It is a cream product and left my skin feeling clean but not stripped dry.

You can rinse it off your face with water or wipe it off with a cotton pad.

So far I am liking this product.

I also bought Nivea Visage Shine Control Mattifying Gel Cream. This is a moisturiser. I bought this because I have never seen a gel cream before and have never tried a shine control moisturiser.

This has quite a strong smell, which puts me off a little bit because fragrances sometimes break me out, but I'm giving it a go.

It says on the packaging that it has UVA filters but there is no specific SPF on the product. This doesn't bother me much because my makeup that I wear on top generally has an SPF in it.

I have only used this once but it felt very moisturising on my skin and my skin was left feeling soft after the product was absorbed. I wouldn't say it made my face completely matte but it was definately less shiny than when I use my Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturiser.

Skinfood New Zealand Cleans All and Nivea Visage Shine Control Mattifying Gel Cream

So far I am happy with both products and I will update in a month or so how they went for me.
